On June 27, 2026, the Maja Prentice Theatre filled to capacity for TEDxMississauga's latest event, "Ripple Effects", a sold-out gathering of sixteen speakers, a packed house, and a city's worth of ideas about what happens when one action, one insight, or one small decision spreads far beyond its origin.

Eighteen Voices, One Stage

Over the course of the day, eighteen speakers took the TEDx stage to share ideas spanning entrepreneurship, community building, science, and personal transformation.

Producing a day like this doesn't happen by accident. The core organizing team including Ade Tijani and Gabriel Odartei worked alongside the Lead Organizer, Charles Mensah to handle everything from run-of-show logistics to volunteer coordination, sponsor relations, and the hundred small decisions that determine whether an event merely happens or actually lands.

A Community-Backed Effort

TEDxMississauga's return was made possible in part by a network of local partners and sponsors who backed the event's vision: IDEA Mississauga, the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance, CoLab Mississauga, Kind Projects, Visit Mississauga, MAKU Productions, and Vecta Solutions all played a role in bringing "Ripple Effects" to life a reminder that independently licensed TEDx events are, at their core, community-built.

That community backing extended beyond financial sponsorship. Visit Mississauga's involvement, for instance, points to a broader interest in the event's role in the city's local economy, the kind of "ripple effect" that extends from a single sold-out night into hotel stays, restaurant visits, and local spend that benefits the wider Mississauga business community.

Why It Matters

TEDxMississauga's comeback is notable for reasons beyond a single successful night. It represents the sustained work of rebuilding a licensed TEDx event from a period of dormancy, assembling a team, earning sponsor trust, re-establishing a speaker pipeline, and convincing a city that the platform is worth showing up for. A sold-out house of speakers, is a strong signal that the rebuild has worked.

It also sets the stage for what comes next. With "Ripple Effects" now behind it, TEDxMississauga is already looking ahead to its 2027 event, themed "Momentum" a name that suggests organizers see this year's success not as a peak, but as the beginning of an upward curve.

TEDxMississauga is an independently organized TED event, licensed to bring the spirit of TED's "ideas worth spreading" mission to Mississauga, Ontario audiences.
